WELCOME HOME

HashtagDave.xyz started as a place to put the work.

That sounds simple, but it took me a while to get there.

For years, I had three or more creative threads constantly running in parallel. Music, visual art, writing, design, playlists, cover art, technology, weird digital culture, vinyl, glitch aesthetics, and whatever else kept pulling at my attention after hours. None of it fit cleanly into one traditional box. It wasn't just a "music project." It wasn't just an art site. It wasn't just a blog. And it definitely wasn't some carefully manicured personal brand exercise thingy.

It was more like a signal I kept picking up.

So, HashtagDave.xyz became the home base. A place where my creative work could live without needing permission from an algorithm, a platform, or whatever the internet is telling us matters this week.

The name "Hashtag Dave" has always had a little bit of a joke baked into it. It's slightly ridiculous. Slightly outdated. Still somewhat relevant. But very self-aware, and very me. It carries the contradiction I keep coming back to: I'm an analog soul, making my way through the digital landfill. Sometimes trash, sometimes treasure, but always truth.

That contradiction eventually became the foundation for all of it.

This is the larger container. The studio, the archive, the dispatch point, the lab. It's where the music, writing, visual systems, zines, physical goods, playlists, and future releases all start to connect. Not in a forced "content strategy" way. More like a house with different rooms.

Some rooms are loud. Some are quiet. Some are filled with paper, pens, books, records, cassettes, and coffee. Others are all signal noise, geometry, waveform, distortion, and machine ghosts.

That's the world I'm building.

The S1GNAL work started as a visual language of sorts. Geometric, minimal, glitch-adjacent, a little scarred, a little broken. Over time, it has become more than a style. It's becoming a way to think about creativity itself.

What happens when you stop trying to separate the human from the technological? What happens when you treat the machine as a collaborator, but not the author? What happens when you make the error part of the message?

That's the ongoing development of this platform.

HashtagDave.xyz is not finished. None of this is finished. Good. Finished things are usually dead things.

This is an evolving creative ecosystem.

A place for songs, images, essays, artifacts, releases, playlists, experiments, and eventually physical objects people can hold in their hands.

A place for us "GL1TCH1ES" who still care about the beauty of physical, visual, and sonic texture. The meaning in both the noise, and the signal.

I am building this because my creative work needed a house, but also because my creative spirit needed a home.

Welcome home.
